The Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside is excited to be managing Community Recreation Programs and Rentals for the City of Half Moon Bay. The Ted Adcock Community Center has been refurbished. Part of the facility has been turned into a Teen Center where our High School Teens will be able to get homework help, take classes, play games and just hang out.

Happy Harmonica Happening (All ages over 6, 6 classes)

Can’t carry a tune in a bucket? Can’t read music and don’t want to? Bill will have you playing a selection from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony by the end of the first hour! You’ll learn using a new method never seen before. If a 98 year old can learn how to play the harmonica, so can you. A $10 materials fee will be due to the instructor at first class meeting for the harmonica.

CAPOEIRA KIDS

Capoeira for Kids Ages (Ages 7-9 and 10-12, 6 classes) 

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art, recognized worldwide. It combines elements of self-defense and acrobatics, escapes and throws disguised as a dance using the element of music. Capoeira practices whole body movements that allow the “Capoeirista”, of any age, to explore and challenge themselves and their training partners. It helps improve coordination, mobility, sense of space and respect. Music (percussion, string instruments, singing) and language (Portuguese) are also included when training Capoeira. $15 due to Instructor for T-shirt at first class.

Join us for a double creative treat. There will be two classes this Fall. You can sign up for either one, or both if you have the itch to stitch. Sign up for both and there will be a 20% discount on the registration fee, but not on the materials fee. If a parent or grandparent wants to stitch with a child there will be a 10% discount on the registration fee.  Both these classes are easy and suitable for children and adults who would like to broaden their creative horizons. Bring a parent or grandparent. We use top quality materials and you will complete the class with a piece of work of heirloom quality of which you can be proud.

YMCA Aquatics

Private swim lessons are designed to provide personal instruction and help to improve stroke technique, enhance ability and improve endurance and strength. Children must be at least 3 years old.  Lessons are 30 minutes long. Private swim lessons are taught 1-on-1, and semi-private lessons are taught 2 swimmers to 1 instructor.  See swimmer level descriptions below.
